Single Action Shooting - Australia is affiliated with the world
governing body SASS - Single Action Shooting Society.
Matches
are conducted using the International Rules of Single Action Shooting
as promulgated by SASS.
Our
aims as interpretive living historians and competitive shooters
are to preserve, promote and respect the skills, traditions and
the pioneering spirit of the historic American Old West.
Preserving
the "Spirit of The Game" is the code by
which we participate. Simply competing in "The Spirit of The
Game" means fully participating in what the competition asks.
You endeavor to dress the part, use the appropriate competition
tools and respect the traditions of the Old West. Some 100 to 150
years later "The Spirit of The Game" is more commonly
termed good sportsmanship.
This
website is intended to provide a reference point for the ever growing
number of folks across the globe who are joining our worldwide fraternity
in pursuit of competitive achievement, learning and maintaining
skills lost with the advent of modern technology, and above all
the camaraderie and social interaction with like minded folk having
an interest in the Old West and pioneering days. |
